Where automation and craftsmanship meet

We manufacture our own components and parts using carefully screened, approved, and monitored vendors to assemble our flight, ground, and test hardware.

All of our flight hardware processes and procedures are documented and are AS-9100-D certified.


Making sure our hardware is flight-ready

The environmental test labs at Deep Space Systems are used for development, risk reduction, qualification, and acceptance testing.


Our in-house test capabilities include shock, thermal vacuum, and vibration testing for cubesat and smaller sized systems and components.

We are also equipped to do RF sensitivity testing and optical calibration testing, as well as full electrical systems functionality and performance testing.

  • Shock Testing

    Our pnuematic canon fires a variety of projectiles at a very repeatable velocity. This, combined with our ability to vary the resonant plate and strike plate geometry, allows a wide range of response curves to be achieved with levels well in excess of 10,000 g peak.

  • Thermal Vacuum

    Our three thermal vacuum chambers allow for a high production volume, and include the ability to achieve high ramp rates and support specialized test conditions, including thermal balance via a cryogenic shroud.

  • Vibration Testing

    We can test cubesat sized units up to 25 grms, and camera and component hardware at up to 55 grms.

  • Other Tests

    Optical calibration include producing Modulation Transfer Function (MTF) geometric distortion and color corrections maps.  We have extensive experience with 802.11n and 802.11ad radio frequency performance testing for our in-space wireless cameras and appliances.
