Site Controller

Core Responsibilities:

  • Forecast cash flow positions, related borrowing needs, and available company funds

  • Support the Manager/Director of Financial Planning and Analysis in the preparation of the company's annual budget based upon the goals and business plans of the CEO and the BOD

  • Report to management on monthly variances from the established budget, and the reasons for those variances at BU, site, department, and project levels

  • Prepare, monitor, adjust, and communicate annual financial and operational reports as needed; including (but not limited to) balance sheets, statements of income, statements of cash flows, weekly and monthly project cost details, credit agreement reports, labor efficiency reports, etc.

  • Engage and assist in ongoing cost reduction analyses in all areas of the company

  • Engage and assist in benchmarking studies to establish areas of potential operational improvement

  • Assist in the interpretation of the company's financial results to management and recommend improvement activities

  • Review company manufacturing bottlenecks and recommend changes to improve the overall level of company throughput

  • Compile key business metrics and report on them to management

  • Manage the capital budgeting process based on constraint analyses and discounted cash flow analyses

  • Assist, develop, improve, and issue timely monthly financial records/reports for top management

  • Provide financial analysis tools to evaluate company ventures or special projects, programs, capital expenditures, product costing, etc. when necessary

  • Assist CFO in the management of insurances, including (but not limited to) health insurances, general insurances, and worker's compensation insurance

  • Interface with outside tax/audit firms, banks and lessors, casualty/liability insurance agent(s), credit card companies, and collection agencies

  • Oversee accounting and payroll staff and activities

  • Assist in the development of internal control policies and related procedures

  • Work with the management team on project/proposal pricing and costs

Qualifications:

  • Five or more years related experience in a job costing manufacturing environment and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Five or more years of experience in a project accounting environment

  • At least three years of experience as a Controller or Assistant Controller with a company with >$10M in revenues (significant public accounting experience may be considered for the right applicant)

  • Previous experience with government contracting, FAR, CAS, DCAA, or DCMA will be highly valued

  • CPA license required; CMA certificate preferred in addition to the CPA

  • Previous experience directly supervising and coaching staff

Skills/knowledge:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Proficiency with integrated enterprise accounting systems is required (i.e. SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, Deltek Costpoint, NetSuite ERP, Unanet, or something similar). Prior experience with Unanet will be highly valued

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations 

  • Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries and complaints

  • Have effective and persuasive presentation skills on controversial or complex topics for top management, public groups, and/or the board of directors

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts for all bookkeeping, payroll, and budgets

  • Ability to calculate/understand statistical analyses, financial ratios, and probability statements

  • Must be able to use the utmost discretion in all presentations/correspondence and communication for staff, the CEO, the BOD, and third parties such as bankers

  • Aerospace, DOD/Government Contract (Defense Contract Audit Agency, Federal Acquisition Regulations, Cost Accounting Standards), and/or manufacturing experience (preferred)

  • Job shop manufacturing environment with ERP/MRP experience is a plus

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance from a four-year college or university is an absolute requirement; Master's of Accountancy (MaCC) or Master's in Business Administration (MBA) degree is highly preferred

Electronics Design Engineer

  • End-to-end responsibility for boards, from schematic capture through parts selection, analysis, test, and troubleshooting

  • Work with mechanical and avionics leads to find the simplest, most effective solutions for new products

  • Perform de-rating and worst-case analysis, and FMEA

  • Perform prototype testing and hands-on solder rework as needed

  • Design for tolerance to environmental extremes including vibration, shock, high and low temperatures, vacuum, and radiation

  • Design efficient, effective, board test equipment including for high-energy particle accelerators and thermal vacuum chambers

  • Design in compliance with IPC guidelines and space avionics best practices

  • Mentor an engineering intern

Skills/knowledge:

  • Experience designing analog, digital, and (low) power microcontrollers and/or FPGA's (minimum 2 years)

  • High productivity with schematic capture and board layout (Eagle preferred)

  • Relevant knowledge areas preferred:

Thermal Protection System Technician

Thermal Protection System (TPS) Installation and Repair Technician for Sierra Nevada Corporations (SNC's) Dream Chaser Space Plane. Aerodynamic Surface Preparation, Laser Registration, Inspection, Bond Verification, Repair, and Installation of Strain Isolation, Rigid Tile, and Flexible Reusable Insulation.

Skills/knowledge:

  • Experience with TPS installation is not necessary. DSS and SNC will provide training.

  • Other technician skills in areas such as soldering, crimp and harness, polymerics, and mechanical systems are a bonus but are not essential.

Education:

A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

  • Dedicated to test engineering discipline

  • Ability to write clear and accurate test procedures

  • Ability to execute tests of complex units under test hardware, using complex test equipment including:

    • Thermal vacuum and thermal cycling tests​

    • Vibration Tests

    • Shock Tests

    • Camera Calibration

    • Electrical Functionality and Performance Tests

    • Radio Frequency Functionality and Performance Testing

  • Ability to design tests and develop special test equipment when necessary

  • Software skills such as C++ and Python are a plus

  • FPGA skills especially with ProAsic A3PE3000 or the M1A3PE3000 are a plus
