Deep Space Systems Inc is a systems engineering company that supports the design, development, integration, testing and operations of science and exploration spacecraft.
DSSI typically subcontracts to industry prime contractors such as Lockheed Martin, NASA and NASA centers such as the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, developing system engineering products unique to each contract. DSSI does not manufacture any flight or ground hardware. DSSI produces soft products such as requirements, plans, interface control documents, verification and test procedures, and the parameters and databases used in flight, simulation and ground systems. DSSI develops and uses ground software tools for mission and system analysis including trajectory design. DSSI performs analysis and tracking of mass, power, and other system resources and performance criteria. DSSI products include flight software as well as software for ground operations and spacecraft testing.
DSSI supports the analysis and documentation of system level vertical and horizontal interfaces producing customer-required documents, technical databases, technical memos, reports, and presentations. The systems engineering roles and services provided by DSSI involve day-to-day interaction with the spacecraft flight and ground systems engineers. Our roles span the system life cycle including proposal support, integration and testing of the flight spacecraft, and operation and analysis of the spacecraft in flight.
